Boundaries

Map geometry is from Natural Earth, a public-domain dataset, distributed through world-atlas. Geo Sprint bundles versioned 1:50m and 1:110m geometry locally.

Map boundaries are shown for gameplay and do not represent a political position.

Country metadata

Names, reference points, ISO relationships, and source metadata are derived from mledoze/countries under the Open Database License 1.0. Geo Sprint’s derived database is also available under ODbL 1.0.

Download the complete v2 country database, including every difficulty membership, alias, geometry relationship, and reference point. Standard includes the 193 UN members plus Taiwan and Palestine.

Flags

Flag vectors come from flag-icons, used under its MIT license. Original notices are included in the project. Challenge flags are served with neutral content and no country-identifying filenames or alternative text.

Interface and sound

Geo Sprint’s wordmark and globe icon are original. Interface icons are from Lucide, under the ISC license. The success chime is synthesized in the browser. No external music, map API, or paid data API is required.

Mapping decisions

Hard includes 249 ISO entities plus Kosovo. Northern Cyprus and Somaliland geometries are associated with Cyprus and Somalia in this gameplay dataset. Tiny and missing polygons use stable selectable markers. Adjacency uses shared land boundaries with explicit microstate corrections. The dataset and these decisions are versioned independently from the application.
